Part 2: Immigration Rules
CPD: 2 hour
Size: ?
Price
Price £50.00
Description:

This module will help you to understand the different ways by which an individual can qualify for leave to enter or remain in the UK. The immigration categories examined include visitors, students, spouses and partners, family members and other relatively commonly encountered non-work categories. The course also examines the concessions and policies for immigrants outside the immigration rules.
The module is at basic to intermediate level. It is primarily intended as an introduction to the key immigration categories for a person who has a little knowledge of immigration law and practice but seeks to consolidate and improve that knowledge. The course includes material that would be of interest to an intermediate level practitioner, for example on the case law surrounding certain immigration categories and on policies and concessions outside the law.

At the end of the course you should be familiar with the key non-work immigration categories, their criteria and how to assist a person in making an application under them and with the most common policies and concessions likely to be encountered in practice.

This module states the law as at summer 2010, when the immigration manual on which the course is based was last updated. Immigration law can change rapidly, so the materials may now not reflect the latest position in places
