This module will assist you to understand the legal and practical framework of UK immigration control. The course covers the terminology of immigration control, the concept of leave to enter and remain, the statutory framework for immigration control and then moves on to consider the practicalities of making of an immigration application.
This module is at basic level. The course is intended primarily as a structured introduction to the subject of immigration law for a person with little knowledge of the subject. At the end of the module you should be confident regarding sources of law and the framework of immigration control.

This module states the law as at summer 2010, when the immigration manual on which the course is based was last updated. Immigration law can change rapidly, so the materials may now not reflect the latest position in places
