The Points Based System – Sponsor’s Perspective
This course outline is for guidance only. We are happy to build training around your business needs.
The course is for any company, organisation, or educational establishment which recruits migrant workers and/or international students. This course will provide an useful guide to any member of staff responsible for making applications for sponsorship licences and carrying out sponsorship duties under the Points Based System.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, you will:
1. Have an understanding of the new legal framework.
2. Learn how to become a sponsor.
3. Understand your responsibilities as a sponsor.
4. Have the necessary information to implement the Points Based System.
Course Outline
Becoming a Sponsor – getting started.
• Human Resource Systems – includes: how UK Borders Agency rate systems and assess compliance with immigration laws, and allocating new staff roles and their responsibilities.
• Applying for Sponsorhip – includes the application process, UK Borders Agency’s requirements, and the costs.
Ongoing Sponsorship duties – maintaining your sponsorship status.
• Sponsor Management System – an overview of the system, and included UK Borders Agency’s requirements for employing a migrant or recruiting international students.
• Record Keeping
• Reporting Duties
• Co-operating with the UK Borders Agency
• Complying with the immigration rules
• Tier-specific duties.
Approximate course duration: 1 day (depending on your requirements).
Venue: as advised by you.
